Statistics Iceland publishes the harmonized index of consumer prices for August on Tuesday, September 20. Twelve-month inflation was 6.4% in July. Veritabus believes that there have been very small price changes between months, as can be seen in the attached table:
This means that twelve-month inflation falls from 6.4% to 5.9%. This can be seen in the table below:
It is interesting to compare changes in the consumer price index with changes in the harmonized index. The main difference between the indices lies in the fact that the harmonized index does not take into account changes in the cost of one's own housing.
